It was different coming back to Norway to work and not for vacation time with my family.
I even lived at a hotel for one night in Oslo, because I don't live there anymore.
It was very strange. I did a photo shoot for Norwegian Elle, which was fun because it's the magazine I read from home. I also did a showcase in Oslo. I had invited all my friends and my family to come see me play for the first time. Also the most important Norwegian media people were there.
It was my time to show them my songs..no one ever heard them before. I was so nervous because my voice was acting weird. It was because of my pollen allergies. And the trees were OF COURSE blooming at it's best that day.
My head was pounding and my throat was sore. But I thought I would give it a shot. I didn't want to cancel with all my dearest people sitting waiting in the audience.
I felt that my shows before have been better, but I was happy with it considering the circumstances. It was so nice to see all the people I love in front of me.
It was also amazing to see the support I got from the Norwegian media and people. They seem to really like my song "Break You" and it makes me so happy.
After doing a few more interviews my voice was completely gone.
It scared me, but I knew I needed some rest. So I went up north in Norway to my secret place above the arctic circle--the place were the air is
clean, the sun shines all night and the only sound you hear is waves rolling in to shore. It's the place I wrote about in my bonus track song "Surfing the Sun".
I celebrated the National Day of Norway there. 17th of May.
It's an amazing tradition where everyone walks in a big parade with Norwegian flags. All the girls are wearing the Norwegian national costume and kids are allowed to eat as much ice cream they can. I also went up to a small cottage far up in the woods under the big mountains and spent some days there doing nothing at all.
It was good for my voice and my soul. I've gotten tons of new energy.
I'm returning to New York now.
New York is also the best place around spring time. Suddenly tons of
people are walking in the streets and laying in the parks. I'm going
back to put together my own band. It's been my dream, so it's going to
be fantastic. We will rehearse for about two weeks and then the trip
goes straight to Malaysia.
I will then travel around Asia for a month and come back to Japan in
July. I can not wait to eat sukiyaki again, seriously miss it.
Only about three days until my album comes out. How surreal! I hope
people will enjoy it.. I really do.
Later,Marion
